RF Transmitter :

Referring to the Figure above, the block diagram is representing how the RF transmitter block diagram functioned. When the power supply gave a power to the RF transmitter, the input will transmit to the oscillator using a key, go through to the antenna. This input, that a signal which will transmit to the receiver to send a signal  to the receiver circuit.

RF Receiver :

Referring to the Figure above, the block diagram representing how RF receiver block diagram is function. When the signal came from antenna, the transmitter will transmit that signal. That signal will cross the coil, and sent that signal to pre amplifier. After pre amplifier, the filtering process produces to decrease the noise of signal. From that, the output, that signals will out in the open and will sent to the owner of the receiver circuit. It will also use the power supply to operate the circuit.

WEEK 8 FYP

Objectives   : o To Understand method use in this project
.o To Understand the device should work
Activities     : On this week, i have to explain about the methodology of my project to my adviser. I have to explain the method i use and how my project device will work. I have prepared flow chart and diagram how the device work.
Analysis      : The explanation are shown below:

METHODOLOGY, FLOW CHART & FLOW DIAGRAM:

Methodology
The methodology  is an important component that essentially maps out the methods that I will utilize when I do a research. One part of the methodology chapter is a simple review of the problems that need to be considered when tackling the subject at hand.
For my project report, the methodology is as follow:
                      i.        Flow Chart
                    ii.        How the device work

Flow Chart

From the flow chart we can see that our circuit operation. Starting from the beginning, 9V supply are used  for both of the circuit to supply the power on the circuit. Then the circuit will receive a signal from each other. When both of the circuit are out of range and doesn’t receive the signal of each other, the buzzer will automatically sound to tell the parents that their children are out of range and far away from them. So the tracker device will be activate and send the data to the laptop and mobile phone. The GPS tracker at the laptop will detected the coordinate of the child. But if both of the circuit still in range and receive the signal, the buzzer will not sound and the tracker device also will not activated.

How the device work
There are 3 circuits and 1 device will be created which is transmitter, receiver, alarm circuits and GPS tracker device. The receiver and alarm circuit are carried by the parents while the transmitter circuit will attach to the child. The receiver will receive the signal while their kids still in signal range. If the transmitter (attach at the kids) is out of range in 10ft, the alarm wills sounds automatically to warn parents of their kids are far from them. Then the GPS tracker device will automatically activate and start send information to the parents mobile phone and laptop.

WEEK 7 FYP

Objectives   : o To find the problem frrom previous work of project
o To find the Benefits of this project
Activities     : For week 7, my adviser ask me to list the problem statement that are coming from the traditional child safety harness and the benefits or contribution of my project. So, i have prepared the problem statement and the benefits of my project to the users.
Analysis      :  The details are shown below:

PROBLEM STATEMENT & BENEFITS:

Problem statement
This proposal will discuss about the project that i will do in my final year project.  My project will focus on the about the incident that always happening nowadays which is about missing child. We are often hear and see about this missing child news everywhere like internet, train station, supermarket and etc. So this problem has been solved with the establishment of the traditional child safety harness that had been created in today’s world. But this child safety harness that had in the market now is the rope child safety harness. Parents have to attach the rope to their wrist and connect the rope to their child safety harness. From this situation, there are a problems that we can identify. The problem is being state above:

·         Parents cannot freely do their activity like working when their children are with    them, shopping, and etc.
·       When the rope has been attached to each other, it is look like a parents            bringing pets a walk.
·         There are no tracker on their children safety harness if the rope is being cut off    by kidnappers and taken away from them in busy environment.
·         There is no warning alarm if their rope is being cut.

So, to prevent this problem from happened, I create this project which is wireless child safety harness with tracker. My project is focusing in wireless system, alarm and GPS tracker that are very important to this project. By doing this project, all the problem that state above are being resolved. With wireless system, parents can freely do their work and it’s not look like a pet anymore. This project also have the alarm system that can warn parents if their children are far from them. This project also have the tracker device that can detected the coordinate of their children if kidnappers are taken away their children.

Benefits / Contributions
The advantages of this project are to reduce the missing children from being kidnapped in crowded place. By using this invention, the parents can freely do their activities in a crowded environment such as in hypermarket during sales. Compare to traditional child safety harness, parents have to tie a rope at their hand to secure their children safety. They look like  pets. My project ensures they don’t look like ones because of the use of wireless system.

In this project, I plan to make a device that creates a new revolution for the safety harness. This project is a new wireless child safety harness system to improve the function of child safety harness that most of parents use nowadays. Since those ordinary children safety harness is not that effective anymore, we planned to improvise the existing child safety harness to become a wireless child safety harness with tracker which is more convincing and comfortable. This wireless child safety harness will alert the users/parents when their children is far away and the device will warn them that their kids are far from them. There is no problem in adjusting a distance of the signal that will receive by the receiver. I have use RF transmitter circuit that can transfer a long distance signal.

WEEK 6 FYP

Objectives   : o To explain the details about the project
o To know the objective of the project
Activities     : For the past week, i have study about the wireless system operation, RF transceiver and also child safety harness invention. From the information i collect and research i have made, i have started doing my proposal. For this week, i have came out with the introduction, objective of my project.
Analysis      : The details are shown below:

 INTRODUCTION & CONCLUSION:

Introduction
The objective of my project is to develop Remote Security Alarm for wireless child safety harness with tracker. Nowadays, we have heard many cases about missing child and kidnapping on the television or other media. So, I have design something that can be used to solve this problem. This wireless child safety harness with tracker actually has been designed to protect child from missing or kidnapping in a busy environment. I have design 3 circuit for this project and prepared 1 tracker devices. The circuit that being prepared is transmitter, receiver and alarm circuit and also the tracker devices.  My project is very easy to use and very comfortable. It can be hold or bring anywhere because of its size is small and light. I have use 9V battery for both of the circuit. The receiver and alarm circuit will use the same battery. The alarm circuit will activate and give a warning sound if the receiver is not receiving a signal from the transmitter. So it is the warning sign for the parents if their children are far from them.

Objective
In this busy environment, parents sometimes neglect the importance of their children safety. The main objective of this project is to develop wireless child safety harness with remote security alarm fixtures and tracker device. The purpose of this invention is:

Ø  to protect the children from being missing or kidnapped especially in crowded place such as shopping complex.
Ø  To allow parents freely do their activities such as shopping, working while the kids are monitored with the device.
Ø  To upgraded the existing child harness from rope child harness to wireless child harness.
Ø  To make parents and child feel comfortable and easy to bring that devices because it was small and light.

It is believed that this project can reduce the number of missing children or kidnapping. In today's world, technology is not what we want but i was what we need. Everyone is hungry for technology. Even some parents don't want the technology because it's expensive, but sooner or later they will buy it because it is needed to archive developed nation.

WEEK 5 FYP

Objectives   : o To study the details about child safety harness
o To know the history for the child safety harness
Activities     : For week 5, i do some research about safety harness. I have learned about the child safety harness definition, and the previous work about this child safety harness. I have to collect the data about the safety harness for child because my FYP idea is to upgraded the existing child safety harness to wireless child safety harness with tracker.
Analysis      : The details of traditional child safety harness are shown above:

 DEFINITION & PREVIOUS WORK:

Definition Of Child Safety Harness
A child harness is a safety restraint for walking with children. The device is mostly used with toddlers and children of preschool age, and typically consists of a shoulder harness with a lead secured in the back, either directly or by means of a hook. When the device is used, a child wears the harness and a parent or a guardian holds the end of the lead or attaches it to their wrist. This allows the child relative freedom of movement in comparison to being seated in a stroller, carried by the adult (with or without a child carrier), or being held by the hand. At the same time, the child harness prevents child separation from the adult by the way of the child running off in a crowded or dangerous area. There exists a difference of opinion on the use of child harnesses. Those in favor argue for the benefit of enhanced safety, and increased freedom of movement compared to hand-holding or confinement of children to strollers. Those opposed to their use prefer restraining children through hand-holding, and point out that harnesses prevent children from learning that if they act up or try to run away they will not get to go places. The child safety argument has been winning over in recent years and the use of the safety harness has increased.

Child Safety Harness Previous Work
Many parents asked for a security device which could get them "peace of mind". Since the 1990s, many manufacturers worked on a more human harness for kids. Such manufacturers as Mother care or Boots in United kingdom, Safety First or DANDee in the United States and many others produced many models varying in texture, colours, and width which varies from 15cm to a maximum of 60cm to 80cm. More and more, harnesses appear to be light weight and extremely resistant at the same time. They are made mainly in England and can be found on some specialized internet stores. They can often be bought at the entrance of some amusement parks. Because many parents are reluctant to leash their children, a new device is coming to be on sale more and more. The reason why a parent will use a harness is for helping the child to walk or for restraining the moves of the child. By way of consequence, a harness needs to be linked to a solid rope which will be clipped to the harness buckles. The terms used to name this rope are varied and different from a place to another. We can classify them in two broad categories. A rope for helping babies of a year to make their first steps. The appropriate term is leading Strings. A rope for restraining movements of a child or used as a security device when in crowd, on chair or in a pram, or stroller. The words reins, leash, tethers or lead are the appropriated terms here.

WEEK 4 FYP

Objectives   : o To study about wireless system
o To study about transceiver (Transmitter & Receiver)
o To study about Radio Frequency (RF)
Activities     : On this week, i have study and do some research about the wireless system, RF transmitter & RF receiver. It is because in my project, i use this RF features to create a wireless network. I can change the frequency according to the required distance by using RF (Radio Frequency) system.
Analysis      : The details of my research are shown above:

 WIRELESS, TRANSCEIVER & RF:

Wireless
The word wireless is dictionary defined as "having no wires". In networking terminology, wireless is the term used to describe any computer network where there is no physical wired connection between sender and receiver, but rather the network is connected by radio waves and/or microwaves to maintain communications.

Transceiver
Transceiver is short for transmitter-receiver, a device that both transmits and receives analog or digital signals. The term is used most frequently to describe the component in local-area networks (LANs) that actually applies signals onto the network wire and detects signals passing through the wire. For many LANs, the transceiver is built into the network interface card (NIC). Some types of networks, however, require an external transceiver. In Ethernet networks, a transceiver is also called a Medium Access Unit (MAU). In radio communications, a transceiver is a two-way radio that combines both a radio transmitter and a receiver that exchanges information in half-duplexmode.

RF (Radio Frequency)
Short for radio frequency, any frequency within the electromagnetic spectrum associated with radio wave propagation. When an RF current is supplied to an antenna, an electromagnetic field is created that then is able to propagate through space. Many wireless technologies are based on RF field propagation. These frequencies make up part of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum:

  • Ø  Ultra-low frequency (ULF) -- 0-3 Hz
  • Ø  Extremely low frequency (ELF) -- 3 Hz - 3 kHz
  • Ø  Very low frequency (VLF) -- 3kHz - 30 kHz
  • Ø  Low frequency (LF) -- 30 kHz - 300 kHz
  • Ø  Medium frequency (MF) -- 300 kHz - 3 MHz
  • Ø  High frequency (HF) -- 3MHz - 30 MHz
  • Ø  Very high frequency (VHF) -- 30 MHz - 300 MHz
  • Ø  Ultra-high frequency (UHF)-- 300MHz - 3 GHz
  • Ø  Super high frequency (SHF) -- 3GHz - 30 GHz
  • Ø  Extremely high frequency (EHF) -- 30GHz - 300 GHz

Abstract

Wireless communication is the transfer of information between two or more points that are not connected by an electrical conductor. In this project, transmitter and receiver circuit is used to make wireless sensor network system. A wireless sensor network consists of spatially distributed autonomous sensor  to monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, pressure and etc. and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location. In this project, wireless is used to prevent from child missing or far away from parent. The alarm will be attach to the wireless system to alert user when the signal is missing because of the child are far away from their parents. Other than that, GPS tracker also will be attached to the wireless system to make sure the user know where are the location or coordinate of their kids. It is believed that this project can reduce the number of missing children
