WEEK 11 FYP (SEM 2)

Objective            :
  • ·         To produce the report draft.


Content/Procedure        :
  • ·     The progress of the report draft is needed during the completing of the project prototype. The report progress needed is:

o   Abstract              
o   Introduction
o   Objective
o   Result


Result/Analysis :
  • For this week, I need to write for a report draft regarding of the project I make. The report draft is needed during a making of poster for industrial day on week 14. All of the information is important because it will be presented in front of the supervisor and accessor. The report draft written is shown as below:

ABSTRACT:

The ‗Remote Security Alarm with Tracker‘ is a project to keep children safe from missing, lost or kidnapping. Nowadays, safety is the most important issue that we always heard in everywhere. In our live, we need something to protect our child. Thus, I develop something novel which is wireless child safety harness with tracker. This is because the traditional child safety harness is not user friendly, which the parents have to attach a rope at their hand to their children harness. My objective is also to upgrade the existing child harness from rope child harness to wireless child harness. The advantage of having a Wireless Child Safety Harness is due to no medium attaches between the parents and the children which result in free movement during their activity. By using this invention, the parents can freely do their activity in a crowded environment such as in hypermarket during sales. The Wireless Child Safety Harness with ‗Remote Security Alarm‘ fixtures consist of RF chokes as a sensor that detects signals from both transmitter and receiver circuits. I also have used two ICs which are NE567N and HEF4001BP for these circuits. These two ICs are frequency and tone decoder that commonly used in RF frequency circuits. We believe that this project can reduce the number of missing children or kidnapping.

INTRODUCTION:


This project is to develop the security devices for children which named ―Wireless Child Safety harness with Tracker‖. Nowadays, there are too much news about missing children or kidnapping that can be heard on the television, radio, internet or any others media. So, the idea to design something that can be used to solve this problem has come up. This wireless child safety harness with tracker is actually the upgrade of the existing child harness in the market nowadays. The traditional child safety harness which has been used in today‘s world is the usage of rope attaching children to their parents. From the concept of old design of safety harness, the idea is to have it upgraded to become more advanced devices that will make people feel comfortable to using the tracker. So, the wireless child safety harness with GPS tracker has been designed to protect child from missing or kidnapping in the busy environment and also informing the location of the child via GPS system. Wireless child safety harness with tracker is the device that will monitor children in a certain range. This is to ensure that the child is still in a safe area and also still in a close range to their parents. So we came up with the idea to create the project we believe that this device is very user friendly, intuitive and comfortable to use and operate. The device can be held or brought anywhere because of its lighters and small size. The power supply use is 9V battery for both of the circuits. The receiver and alarm circuits will use the same battery. The alarm circuit will activate and give a warning sound if the receiver is not receiving a signal from the transmitter. The warning alarm is meant for the parents when their children are far away from them. The GSM GPS system is attached to the transmitter circuit and will also automatically activated when the transmitter is out of range from the receiver.

OBJECTIVE:

In this busy environment, parents sometimes neglect the importance of their children safety. The main objective of this project is to develop wireless child safety harness with remote security alarm fixtures and tracker device. The purpose of this invention is:
  1. i. To protect the children from being missing or kidnapped especially in crowded place such as shopping complex.
  2. ii. To allow parents freely do their activities such as shopping, working while the kids are monitored with the device.
  3. iii. To upgraded the existing child harness from rope child harness to wireless child harness.
  4. iv. To make parents and child feel comfortable and easy to bring that devices because it was small and light.
It is believed that this project can reduce the number of missing children or kidnapping. It is also right to be indispensable technology goods in the today‘s world.

Conclusion          :

  • For the conclusion on this week, I have successfully done the objective for this week. I have done the report draft and the information I needed to put in my poster during the presentation day.

WEEK 10 FYP (SEM 2)

Objective            :
  • ·         To make a video regarding the project.
  • ·         To troubleshoot the project functionality.


Content/Procedure        :
  • ·      The video of the project need to be produced for a backup if the project are not functioning well during the FYP presentation day. The details are shown below:

o   Date of produce               : 16th April 2014

o   Time                                : 5pm - 6pm
o   Project condition              : Good

  • ·      The project also needs to be troubleshooting during the making video process. It is because the process of making video needs the functioning well circuit to be presented.


Result/Analysis :
  • For this week, I need to make a video about my project functionality. This video is needed as a backup during the FYP presentation day if my project has some problem during the presentation. So, the functionality of my project can be presented to the accessor on that day as a proof of my project function. I also troubleshoot the circuit during the making video progress. It is because the circuit need to be fully function even though it just a prototype. Below shows the picture and video of the project prototype device:



               
Conclusion          :
  • For the conclusion on this week, I have successfully done the objective for this week. I have done making a video for backup during presentation day. I am also done troubleshooting the device lacking during the process of making it.

WEEK 9 FYP (SEM 2)

Objective            :
  • ·         To Buy the classic child safety harness with rope
  • ·         To attach the GPS GSM Tracker Device into transmitter circuit.


Content/Procedure        :
  • ·         The classic child safety harness was bought online. The details are shown below:

  • ·         The GPS GSM Device need to be attached at transmitter circuit. GSM GPS Tracker Device is used to track the location of the transmitter.


Result/Analysis :
  • For this week, I have do some survey to buy the classic child safety harness and also to buy the GSM GPS Device. The Classic child safety harness is needed for my presentation on the FYP presentation day on week 14. The GSM GPS tracker Device need to be attach to the transmitter circuit because the transmitter circuit will be hold by the user child. So, in case the child was missing and there’s no sign the child are nearer the missing place, the GSM GPS Tracker Device will be needed to track the location of the transmitter. User need to call the GSM GPS Device to get the information regarding the current location of the transmitter. Below shown the Classic child safety harness and the GSM GPS Tracker Device:





               
Conclusion          :

  • For the conclusion on this week, I have successfully done the objective for this week. I have done buying the classic child safety harness to be presented during industrial day. I also successfully tested the compatible between the GSM GPS Tracker Device with Transmitter circuit to be attached this device together. The device are being attached together and ready to been tested.

WEEK 8 FYP (SEM 2)

Objective            :
  • ·         To Itching and solder alarm circuit
  • ·         To attach alarm circuit into receiver circuit
  • ·         To test GSM GPS System functionality



Content/Procedure        :
  • ·      Itching and solder the alarm circuit into the itching board. Then testing the alarm circuit functions and makes it connected together with receiver circuit. After that, the GSM GPS System have been test and been configured. The details are shown below:

o   GSM GPS Test    : Using laptop to registered and configured the places.
o   Date                     : 2nd April 2014
o   Software used       : GPS Tracker Version 2.0.0.0
o   Accuracy              : 95% accurate based on internet and GPS
o   Delay time             : Less than 30 seconds the message arrived
o   Maps type             : Google maps


Result/Analysis :
  • For this week, I need to make the alarm circuit and connected it together with the receiver circuit. The function of the alarm circuit is to warning this device user and makes them alert if the transmitter is far away from them. Other than that, I also test the GSM GPS Tracker System that has been used in my project. The function of this GSM GPS System is to track the transmitter location within a second. It can help to prevent the transmitter user from being missing. There is some software use to configure the GSM GPS Tracker Device to specify the user country. The GSM GPS Tracker device function is when the user makes a call to the Tracker device, the device will automatically responding and gives a message to the user smart phone less than 30 second. So the user can automatically track the device current location at that time. The picture of the device is shown below:

  • For the conclusion on this week, I have successfully done the objective for this week. I have done soldering the alarm circuit and connected it together with the receiver circuit. I am also have done configuring and testing the GSM GPS Tracker device to been used on my project. The purpose of this project is to prevent the transmitter device from being missing.
